Pailiaq is an electronic musician from California who really hates writing about himself in the third person, so he's gonna stop doing that now.

I found my purpose through music production and started the pailiaq project around 2019. My goal is to create psychedelic soundscapes that present novel sounds and feelings to listeners - things they may have never experienced before. For me that's kind of the point of psychedelic music: to offer sounds that are otherworldly, surprising, colorful, and unexpected. I make a blend of psychedelic dubstep, glitch hop, and downtempo, usually with a microtonal twist.

Besides making music, I do mixing and mastering work and teach 1-on-1 production lessons. My fascination with psychoacoustics led me to audio systems engineering work at Dolby Laboratories, where I had the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art spatial audio systems and conduct psychoacoustics research.

This website serves multiple purposes:

• Provide musical tools for learning music theory from an electronic perspective
• Explore microtonal music and xenharmonic music theory
• Share random musings and findings about sound, psychoacoustics, and research, idk whatever i want its my website
